STATEMENT FROM MAURIZIO ZAMPARINI

STATEMENT FROM MAURIZIO ZAMPARINI

After receiving telephone calls from people expressing their solidarity with me under the impression that I am under house arrest, I would like to clarify that I am a free man.

The Court of Review ordered house arrest on the request of the Prosecutor, knowing that it could not be enforced as a result of the appeal we will lodge with the Court of Appeal, where we use clear evidence to prove the inconsistency of all of these circumstantial accusations.

Given the actions of the Palermo Prosecutor, I have asked my lawyers in London to take my case to the European Court of Human Rights.

I will not be requesting damages but will ask that my image be protected: I am a profoundly honest man who couldn’t be more at odds with the alleged crimes that have been described.
